Stock Controller

We are seeking a Stock Controller for our client, a leading energy player to ensure efficient daily stock planning and administration to maintain safe, streamlined operations that align with customer service standards and operational compliance.
The role involves preparing stock reports, participating in audits, addressing customer queries, and training operations staff in stock management practices. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of relevant operations experience in the chemical, gas, or petroleum sectors, with strong analytical, communication, and excel skills.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily stock management process, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating between departments for smooth operations
- Facilitate effective communication through regular stock briefings and ensure management goals are clearly conveyed.
- Maintain accurate stock reconciliation records, reporting discrepancies and follow-up actions.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts related to inventory variances and take corrective actions as needed.
- Act independently in the role of stock controller when required.
- Collaborate closely with shift leaders during stock handovers to maintain control integrity.
- Minimize discrepancies between ship and shore measurements.
- Manage inventory control system and assist with digital upgrades for automated stock reporting.
- Support analysis of vessel loading/unloading variances and performance data.
- Participate in stock audits and provide operational support for truck activities
- Be present during the start of each month to assist with financial month-end closing tasks. Respond promptly to significant discrepancies in stock levels, including after-hours investigations if necessary
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant operations with a focus on chemicals, gas, or petroleum.
- Background in similar industrial environments.
- Minimum qualification: Diploma in Chemical Process Technology.
- Deep understanding of hazardous product handling, equipment operation, and safety standards.
- Excellent multitasking and communication abilities, especially under pressure.
- Analytical thinker with strong planning skills.
- Proven experience training and guiding teams.
- Proficient in Excel and capable of using data tools for stock analysis.
- Highly detail-oriented and trustworthy team player. Office location: West of Singapore
