Job Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Inventory Officer to join our Operations team. This role is crucial in managing and maintaining accurate inventory records, overseeing stock movements, and supporting the day-to-day operations of our store and warehouse. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organised, and experienced in inventory control within a fast-paced technical or construction-related environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure that the required materials and supplies are available when needed.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies. Implement inventory control procedures to minimize loss, theft, and damage
2. Receiving and Inspection:
- Receive and inspect all incoming shipments to ensure they meet quality and quantity specifications.
- Record and document received items, including any discrepancies or damaged goods. Coordinate with suppliers to resolve any issues with deliveries
3. Inventory Records and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using inventory management software.
- Prepare and distribute regular inventory reports to the Operations Supervisor and other relevant stakeholders. Ensure all inventory documentation is organized and easily accessible for review and auditing purposes
4. Storage and Organization:
- Ensure that inventory is stored in an organized and efficient manner.
- Implement best practices for inventory storage to maximize space utilization and accessibility. Monitor the condition of stored items and ensure they are kept in optimal conditions
5. Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory management processes and implement best practices. Collaborate with the Operations Supervisor to develop and implement process improvement initiatives
6. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies related to inventory management.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in the inventory storage areas. Conduct regular safety checks and report any hazards or incidents
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory management, preferably within the M&E or construction industry.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
