Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Sourcing
- Source and evaluate suppliers/vendors for construction materials, tools, machinery, and services.
- Obtain and review quotations, negotiate price, terms, and delivery conditions.
- Maintain an approved vendor list and develop supplier relationships.
Order Management
- Issue Purchase Orders (POs) based on project or site requisitions.
- Track and follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery to site.
- Resolve delivery issues, shortages, and damaged goods in coordination with site and vendors.
Cost & Budget Control
- Ensure purchases stay within project budgets and seek cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor market trends and price fluctuations to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Coordination & Documentation
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to understand material needs and specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare procurement reports and assist with audits or documentation requirements.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all procured items comply with company standards and project specifications.
- Enforce purchasing policies and procedures in compliance with company and legal requirements.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant purchasing experience in the construction industry preferred.
Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of construction materials and vendor networks
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure
