Reporting to: Head of Gas Business Division


INPEX ENERGY TRADING SINGAPORE PTE LTD(hereinafter “IETS”) is a crude oil and LNG trading company in Singapore that focuses on the sale of crude oil and aims to conduct the LNG optimization of the INPEX Group.

The company has been increasing the trade volume of crude oil and seeking to expand its LNG portfolio and is now looking for Marketing and Trading Manager - LNG

Position Objective

  • The Gas Business Division of INPEX Energy Trading Singapore (IETS) currently aims to conduct the LNG optimization of the INPEX Group through the LNG spot transaction under the name of IETS and conducting the optimization using the INPEX portfolio including shipping arrangement advice.
  • To expand the business of the IETS, as In near future, IETS will be the LNG hub of the INPEX Gr and considering to expand the portfolio of the INPEX Group including the purchase of the new long term contracts, etc.
  • To gather information about LNG market, project related information to use for the strategic planning and enhance the possibility of the LNG transaction for the INPEX Group.
  • To form a deal to support LNG optimization, including seeking approval, and reporting to Head of Gas Business.
  • Explore and develop new business opportunities in Asian region with Crude Oil and LNG including middle and/or downstream gas business. Knowledge of Japan Market is essential


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and expand INPEX LNG portfolio (Japan Market)

Responsible for the optimization of the LNG within the INPEX Group and provide necessary advise to maximize the profit by :

  • Selling or purchasing the LNG Cargo in spot basis to optimize or balance INPEX Gr’s portfolio,
  • Supervising LNG cargo operation which is conducted by HQ LNG Trading Unit.
  • Assisting to set up ADPs for the INPEX equity efficiently in order to mitigate the risk of facing the volatility of the spot market and maximize the profit.
  • Support the discussion of the long-term contract to expand INPEX LNG portfolio.
  • Controlling and updating the credit line with customers.
  • Gathering information from the customer and will seek chance for optimization and balancing the INPEX Group position of the LNG.
  • Assist and report to Head of Gas Business and/or HQ in an efficient manner to conduct the LNG transaction for INPEX Group.
  • Attending meetings with buyers, sellers, shipping brokers, ship owners, terminal operators, joint ventures partners, and relating internal team, management and/or any other stakeholders to discuss details in English and Japanese without interpreter.
  • Record/update the database related to the transactions (English and Japanese)
  • Manage and work together with Japanese speaking managers of the LNG with the teamwork to assist the transaction of the LNG


Requirements

  • Degree in social sciences/technical related fields or equivalent
  • At least 8 years experiences in Oil & LNG industry with at least 3 years as a LNG trader in a Japanese company in energy industry and familiar with the business customs and procedures.


The candidate must be equipped with the following;

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in LNG procurement and sales contract negotiations.
  • In-depth understanding and hands-on experience in LNG project operations, particularly in FLNG (Floating LNG) projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Japan's energy landscape, the LNG market, and the city gas business.
  • Strong expertise in Japanese gas market liberalization and related legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven sales experience in fuel conversion from alternative fuels to city gas.
  • Planning and execution of the tender of spot LNG
  • Planning and the examination of long new term LNG contract to procure LNG from other company
  • Credit control with customers
  • Preparation/review the LNG Master Sales and Purchase Agreement or any related documents regarding the LNG trading
  • Execution of LNG delivery operation
  • Japanese and English Proficiency
  • An excellent command of English and Japanese with proven ability to effectively and clearly convey information and ideas in both written and verbal means to managements, buyers, suppliers, etc and to the Tokyo HQ team, as two major languages spoken are English and Japanese
  • Japanese proficiency is minimum JLPT N1 or graduate from Japanese University level , as it is essential to be able to read and write Japanese at high level as this position is required to prepare and do formal presentation without help of translator/interpreter to non-English Speaking stakeholder (mostly only Japanese speaking) and also attend meetings with buyers, sellers, brokers, internal team, management and/or any other stakeholders to discuss details in English and Japanese without interpreter.
  • Able to record/update the database related to the transactions (English and Japanese) and to monitor Japanese legal and regulatory developments related to carbon neutrality, and engaged in the sale of carbon-neutral gas to city gas companies as wholesale customers
