Key Responsibilities

1. Promote a Safe Work Environment

  • Foster a proactive safety culture and uphold HSE systems, behaviours, and expectations
  • Ensure HSE policies are clearly communicated and adhered to by contractors and personnel
  • Personally uphold a zero-tolerance approach to unsafe practices
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of HSE strategic goals and safety leadership behaviours

2. Technical & Engineering Oversight

  • Support the Senior Fleet Technical Manager in managing technical operations across the fleet
  • Plan and execute technical projects in coordination with General and Vessel Managers
  • Ensure consistent operation and regular updates of the Planned Maintenance System
  • Contribute to fleet performance optimisation initiatives, identifying cost-effective improvements without compromising safety or reliability

3. Incident Investigation & Preventative Action

  • Participate in technical incident investigations
  • Identify root causes and implement appropriate corrective and preventive measures

4. Project Planning & Delivery

  • Develop comprehensive project plans detailing scope, schedule, budget, and resources
  • Track progress against targets, ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
  • Manage procurement and invoicing processes in alignment with financial controls
  • Oversee project close-out, ensure smooth handover, and conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned

5. Team Coordination & Leadership

  • Collaborate with vessel crew, contractors, and internal departments to ensure on-time and on-budget project delivery
  • Provide technical direction and decision-making support to project teams
  • Drive alignment with project goals and company objectives

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate documentation for all projects, including drawings, contracts, change orders, and reports
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, cost control, and key performance indicators

Qualifications

  • Minimum STCW III/2 Second Engineer Certificate, or
  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, or Marine Engineering

Experience

  • 2 years of shore experience in Technical Role with Owner/Manager/Shipyard or sailed as 2nd Engineer prior
  • Experience with Renewable and Offshore Vessels will be advantages
