Junior Resident Engineer (VMware)

Job Description:

• Provide onsite support for VMware infrastructure, including VM provisioning, configuration, and maintenance.
• Assist in executing vMotion and Storage vMotion tasks, including live migration of VMs and storage without service interruption.
• Support virtual storage allocation, expansion, and optimization tasks.
• Work with senior engineers to troubleshoot VM-related issues and escalate when necessary.
• Perform routine health checks, apply patches, and assist in backup & restore activities.
• Document configurations, change logs, and operational procedures.
• Ensure compliance with client IT standards and security guidelines.
• Coordinate with other technical teams to support infrastructure projects or incident resolution.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in VMware virtualization technologies.

Proficiency in:

• VMware vSphere, vCenter
• vMotion and Storage vMotion
• ESXi administration
• Familiarity with virtual networking and storage concepts (SAN/NAS).
• Good understanding of basic server and storage architectures.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
