RESIDENT ENGINEER

Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate a team of technical supervisors on-site to guarantee full compliance with client requirements and regulatory standards.
• Work in close partnership with Professional Engineers, regulatory agencies, and contractors to provide leadership in planning, design, and site supervision, ensuring timely project delivery and effective problem-solving.
• Ensure the consistent application and upkeep of quality control and safety management systems on site.
• Monitor structural and geotechnical construction activities, identifying and addressing any deviations from approved work standards.
• Review and interpret drawings and contract documents to guide site operations accurately.
• Perform frequent site inspections to verify contractor adherence to health and safety regulations as mandated by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
• Attend site progress and technical meetings with project stakeholders to discuss and resolve construction and technical issues.
• Maintain comprehensive and organized documentation of site activities, including work progress, meeting minutes, safety reports, method statements, shop drawings, and as-built documentation.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized university and is a registered Resident Engineer with the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES).
• Over 3 years of Resident Engineer experience in supervising residential and institutional developments, with comprehensive expertise in bored piling, precast concrete structures, structural steelwork, and local construction methodologies.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software is preferred.
• Demonstrates strong leadership capabilities with proven supervisory skills.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
