R&D Senior EE Engineer


Responsibilities

  • Part of the Singapore R&D team of Engineers developing advanced surgical systems.
  • Collaborate with other cross-functional teams to design electrical and electronic systems from overall system down to components.
  • Troubleshoot and fix issues to improve product performance and reliability.
  • Make sure the design meets user needs, stays within budget, meets quality standards, and supports long-term product use.
  • Conduct analysis, risk assessments, and support mechanical testing and validation.
  • Manage design and manufacturing work, both locally and with overseas partners.
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers to help them grow.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a related field (Bachelor’s or Master’s).
  • At least 5 years of experience in designing and developing electronic systems — experience in medical robotics is a bonus.
  • Familiar with communication protocols like CAN, EtherCAT, Ethernet, UART, and GPIO.
  • Skilled in designing both analog and digital circuits.
  • Experience with microcontrollers, microprocessors, and embedded systems used in mechanical systems.
  • Involved in at least one full product development cycle.
  • Proficient with CAD tools (e.g. Altium) for creating schematics, PCB layouts, and wiring diagrams.
  • Able to run simulations and reviews for PCB and circuit designs (analog, digital, power).
  • Knowledge of testing standards like EMI/EMC, and able to troubleshoot related issues is a plus.
  • Familiar with medical device standards and compliance (e.g. IEC, IPC, risk management) is a bonus.
  • Can understand mechanical designs and how electronics fit into assemblies.
  • Able to read and write technical documents in Chinese (preferred) in order to deal with HQ in China.
