RESPONSIBILITIES
SOCIAL WORKER
About the Role
The Social Worker (SW) will be part of the Family Support Services Care Corner Families for Life team playing the role of an FLE trainer, delivering evidence-based parenting and marriage programmes to parents and couples. The SW also works collaboratively with schools and community partners in planning of these programmes as required, and will be involved in various community outreach efforts.
Key Responsibilities Area:
- Conduct Family Life Education (FLE) parenting and marriage programmes through various formats (talks, workshops and group work, etc.) for parents and couples.
- Provide counselling, programme, and case management services, including information & referral for identified clients.
- Conduct outreach to schools and community partners to increase awareness of family related support and participation in FLE programmes offered.
- Provide clinical and programme supervision to junior staff and/or interns.
Case Management:
- Manage 12 to 15 parenting consultation cases per month
- Conduct client assessment and intervention plan based on programme requirements
- Participate in networking and case management meetings if needed
- Ensure required case documentations are properly completed in a timely manner
- Application of organisational frameworks that include resilience capacity and risk assessment
- Refer clients to appropriate agencies for further intervention
Group Work and Workshops:
- Plan and facilitate groupwork interventions independently and on an as-needed basis
- Conduct parenting seminars independently and on an as-needed basis
Practice Supervision:
- Provide clinical and programme supervision to junior staff and/or interns.
- Facilitate peer group supervision
Professional Practice:
- Demonstrate professional practice and role in accordance to the organisation's vision, mission and best practice standards of the sector, which include ethical, reflexive and collaborative practice
- Respond to crisis situations based on organisational standard operating procedures
- Identify areas of improvement in service delivery based on evidence-based practice
Programme Design and Implementation:
- Participate in implementation of standards of care, organisational health policies, procedures and programmes
Community and Outreach Work
- Conduct engagement talks in community settings (roadshows, schools, etc) to introduce agency and programmes
- Network with other community organisations and stakeholders through community partner events and networking meetings
Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in social work or equivalent
- At least 3 years of relevant working experience in social service, education, or related work involving family, parents and children
- Preferably an accredited FLE trainer under MSF's Family Support Division and with specialist skills training and certification in the following programmes:
- Triple P Selected Level 2
- Triple P Primary Level 3
- Triple P Group Level 4
- Signposts
- Prepare/Enrich Group
- (Candidates not trained in the above yet would be sponsored to undergo relevant trainings for applied role)
- Passion for parenting work to strengthen family life
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Office application, specifically Excel, Power Point presentation, MS Forms
- Preferably bilingual in English and Chinese, or at least conversational in Mandarin to serve Mandarin-speaking clients
- Proficiency in using MS Team/ Zoom
- Willing to work on weekday evenings and Saturday when necessary

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in social work or equivalent
At least 3 years of relevant working experience in social service, education, or related work involving family, parents and children
