Manager, Design Innovation

Job Summary:

• To support curricular innovations and design thinking-related programmes in the school with technical design expertise
• To provide advice and support for the school innovation and improvement projects that apply design thinking, especially infrastructure design
• To build capacity within the school and cluster in design thinking

Core Duties:

• Design Thinking Guidance for Curricular Innovation
  • Guide teachers involved in curricular innovation and design thinking-related programmes, so as to promote the development of empathy, creativity and adaptive thinking for students
  • Support Future Learning Programme (FLP)-Create teachers through coaching and growing their confidence and expertise as facilitators and practitioners
  • Spearhead the integration of design thinking across the RI curriculum

• Design Thinking for School Innovation and Improvement
  • Apply design methodologies (including design sprints) to major school improvement projects, in particular, in the design of school spaces and infrastructure
  • Provide master planning guidance for the progressive improvement of the school campus
  • Provide design thinking consultancy services for departments who propose ground-up innovation projects

• Professional Development and Coaching
  • Run design thinking workshops for school departments
  • On an availability basis, provide design thinking training and advice to cluster schools

• Supporting and covering of the other department duties under Deputy Principal, Organisational Devt when required.

• Any other duties assigned by the school.

Job Requirements

• A good undergraduate degree
• High level of accuracy and eye for details
• Clear and logical thinking
• Good planning, organization and time management skills with ability to work independently on tight deadlines and under pressure
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• This is a 2-year contract (renewable)
