Responsibilities:
- Control Assessment & Monitoring:
Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls across front-to-back private banking processes, including client onboarding, KYC/AML, investment suitability, transaction monitoring, and credit risk. - Risk Reviews & Control Testing:
Conduct regular control reviews, gap analysis, and thematic testing to identify operational, compliance, and financial risks. Recommend corrective actions and track implementation. - Incident Management & Root Cause Analysis:
Investigate internal control incidents or breaches. Lead root cause analyses and work with stakeholders to develop remediation plans. - Policy & Procedure Enhancement:
Review, develop, and update internal control frameworks, procedures, and manuals to align with evolving regulatory standards (e.g., MAS, FATF, OECD). - Regulatory Compliance Support:
Support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections (e.g., MAS), including preparing control documentation, walkthroughs, and evidence collection. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with Front Office, Operations, Compliance, and IT to ensure control requirements are embedded in business practices. - Reporting & MIS:
Prepare internal control reports and dashboards for senior management and risk committees, highlighting trends, key risks, and control gaps.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field. CPA, CIA, or similar certification is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in internal control, audit, risk management, or compliance within the private banking or wealth management sector.
- Strong understanding of private banking products, operations, and risk controls.
Familiarity with Singapore’s regulatory environment (e.g., MAS Notices 626, 644, 758).
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
