Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated scientist with a background in biotechnology or life sciences to support the development and application of Organ-on-a-Chip (OoC) and organoid models for advanced drug evaluation and biological inference. The role focused on building and characterizing microphysiological systems, including 3D cultures and fluidic devices with a supportive interface to our computational biology team.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about advancing human-relevant models for drug discovery, toxicology, and systems biology, using cutting-edge biotech platforms such as engineered tissues, organoids, and lab-on-a-chip devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and validate Organ-on-a-Chip (OoC) and organoid models to support drug testing, pharmacological studies, and response profiling.
  • Perform functional and biochemical assays including TEER, ELISA, cytokine profiling, and viability/toxicity assessments to characterize model behavior.
  • Handle human-derived primary and stem cell cultures, establish 3D microenvironments, and operate fluidic systems in chip and scaffold platforms.
  • Optimize experimental protocols and troubleshoot biological and device performance across organoid and OoC systems.
  • Interface with computational biology and AI teams by providing high-quality biological data and mechanistic context for in silico validation and inference.
  • Interpret results within biological pathways involving barrier integrity, inflammatory responses, enzymatic activity, and cellular stress.
  • Keep abreast of scientific developments in organoid biology, organ-on-chip, and translational microphysiological modeling

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. or equivalent) in a relevant life sciences or bioengineering field
  • Hands-on experience in cell culture, tissue engineering, or lab-on-a-chip systems.
  • Familiarity with biological datasets (e.g., gene expression, imaging) and capacity to interpret them in collaboration with data specialists.
  • Strong experimental and laboratory skills, with attention to reproducibility and detail.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with Organ-on-a-Chip, microfluidic platforms, or advanced in vitro models preferred.
  • Conceptual understanding of bioinformatics tools (e.g., omics data, pathway mapping) from a biological user perspective.
  • Experience in cross-functional teams involving data science, pharmacology, or systems biology

What We Offer

  • A forward-thinking biotech environment addressing unmet needs in drug development and toxicology.
  • Opportunities to collaborate with global experts in bioengineering, computational biology, and pharmacology.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • Career development opportunities within the growing field of translational human-relevant research
