Senior Service Engineer


We are hiring a Senior Service Engineer for supporting our regional as well as worldwide customers. The ideal candidate is one having experience on steering gears. Candidates with experience in propulsion and/or deck machinery may also be considered. The role also involves providing product support to our customers as well as being part of a knowledge pool giving back end support for the field service team.

Your main tasks will include leading service operations related to marine steering gears and rudder systems. You will oversee troubleshooting, maintenance, retrofitting, and commissioning activities onboard vessels and at regional shipyards and/or worldwide locations as necessary.


Key Accountabilities

  • Focus on customer support, commissioning and service on Neuver Maritime product range
  • Building up team technical competence by sharing knowledge with the team through formal and informal channels
  • Cover service activities in Neuver Maritime South East Asia region, fostering and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
  • Conduct workshop tests and prepare technically for assignments.
  • Ensure meticulous preparation and execution of assigned work, maintaining high standards consistently
  • Generate detailed service reports, manage databases, and maintain relevant documents accurately
  • Handle pre- and post-work administrative tasks efficiently. Willingness to undertake ad-hoc duties as assigned
  • Assist managers with various ad-hoc tasks including but not limited to checking and preparing sequence of events related to invoice dispute and dispute with delivery of work
  • Assist sales with technical issues


Qualifications and experience

  • Min. Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience on steering gear and rudder
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience in customer service
  • Relevant working experience in maritime industry
  • Excellent cooperative skills, communication skills, result-oriented, and self-motivated
  • Experience on Project management and commissioning of new deliveries will be added advantage
  • Meticulous & methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Self-driven attitude to find solutions to problems in the field and in the office among engineers
  • Excellent cooperative skills, communication skills, result-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Good written and oral skill (English)
  • Passion and patience for handling customers – Service minded Team player
  • Ready and motivated to provide support via email and telephone for all types of issues.
  • Good hardware knowledge for all equipment platform and good general understanding of work processes.
  • Able to collaborate with own team and with colleagues from other offices operating on different time zones.
