About the Job

Sanofi Manufacturing and Supply organization is preparing its future through an ambitious program named Modulus. The Modulus Project is at the cornerstone of Sanofi strategy as it aims at creating a new manufacturing concept consisting of a new generation of evolutive multi-product facilities, modular, adaptable and agile, leveraging new disruptive technologies, to better address vaccine business challenges as well as Specialty Care Biologics products.

Main Responsibilities-

  • Maintain DeltaV system; ensuring GMP compliance and high availability to support manufacturing activities

  • Optimize production processes through automation

  • As part of a team, provide DeltaV automation 24/7 on call operational support

  • CSV execution; generate and execute qualification tests, including IQ, OQ, PQ

  • Collaborate with Digital team on troubleshooting and optimization of automation systems' performance, including cybersecurity initiatives and routine patching activities

  • Support Plant Connectivity (IOT) initiatives and integrate smart devices to DeltaV and/or site Manufacturing Execution System (MES)

  • Ensure system data storage complies with retention period Manage alarms, periodic reviews and audit trail reviews for Data Integrity compliance

  • Manage automation system SOPs including, but not limited to the system operation, maintenance, backup and recovery, and access control

  • Manage DeltaV automation lifecycle documents such as system architecture, user requirements and software specification documents

  • As part of COP, work with global SMEs to review and upgrade standards

  • Represent engineering function as System SME in audits

  • Manage automation spares

  • SME on DeltaV DCS matters for assigned projects Tier3 projects €5mil; i.e new technology introductions or operational improvements by performing automation assessments, implementation and CSV activities

  • Represent business in engineering review for automation strategy (URS, SIA, DR/DQR etc)

About You

  • Degree or Master’s in Engineering (Chemical / Electrical & Electronics / Instrumentation / Industrial Systems/ Pharmaceutical)

  • Industrial experience in the Biopharmaceuticals/ API industry

  • Proficiency in programming/troubleshooting in DeltaV

  • In-depth understanding of Batch S88 standards (CM, EM, Phases, Recipes, Units etc).

  • Experience in Network Infrastructure/ Virtual Machines – Virtualization, Communication protocol i.e OPC/OPC-UA, Profibus, Profinet, IO link etc

  • An ideal candidate must be a self-driven team player and communicate technical solutions to stakeholders

  • Proven ability to lead automation projects with experience in project management tools and mentoring team of external automation engineers

  • Experience in Aspentech IP21 Data Historian configuration will be a plus.

  • Strong technical writing, experience with drafting SOPs

  • Experience in interfacing with Siemens S7-1500 PLCs via Siemens TIA portal will be added advantage

  • Knowledge on IOT and experience in MES will be added advantage
