Kita is a youth development nonprofit using person-centric and participatory practices to return agency to youths and their communities.

We support youths from under-resourced backgrounds through community gatherings, personal exploration opportunities, and structured career programs that prepare them for meaningful employment.

As an early-stage nonprofit, we're actively developing our values and ways of working alongside the youths we serve, and are now formally hiring for the first time beyond our founding team.

Kita Labs are smaller personal growth programs and projects that we walk with youths in completing, helping them explore their interests and develop confidence through hands-on experiences. We currently run a series of shorter Labs serving cohorts of 10 youths each time.

Kita Studios is our targeted career program designed to prepare youths from diverse backgrounds to enter meaningful industries. We currently operate a Digital Marketing track serving 40 youths annually, providing industry-level training, portfolio development, and job placement support.

We're looking for a Program Manager to oversee the end-to-end delivery of both Labs and Studios programs. Reporting to the Director of Programs, you'll manage all aspects of these programs from participant intake through to completion and outcomes. This early career opportunity offers the rewarding chance to walk alongside youths as they discover their potential and pursue meaningful career pathways.

Manage Labs programs

  • Coordinate personal growth programs and individual projects with participating youths
  • Support youths in identifying, planning, and completing meaningful exploration activities
  • Facilitate group sessions and provide one-to-one guidance throughout project journeys
  • Connect youths with mentors, resources, and opportunities that support their personal development goals

Manage Studios programs

  • Lead comprehensive program management from referrals to classroom experience to learner management
  • Coordinate with industry trainers and manage the learning experience for participants
  • Collaborate with other social services to provide holistic support for youths
  • Build and maintain relationships with social sector partners for referrals and wraparound support
  • Engage with employer partners and follow up on job placements to ensure successful transitions

Drive continuous program improvement

  • Review data from program batches and analyze learner outcomes across both Labs and Studios
  • Identify opportunities to improve how youths achieve their broader life aspirations
  • Work with Director of Programs to implement improvements based on youth feedback and outcome analysis
  • Coordinate with cross-functional team to ensure integrated support across all program areas

We are looking for

  • 2+ years of experience in program management, youth work, social services, or related field (fresh graduates with relevant portfolio welcome to apply)
  • Strong coordination skills with ability to manage multiple participants and external partners
  • Excellent relationship-building abilities, particularly with social sector and employer partners
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with youths, employers, trainers, and community partners

Additional qualities we value

  • Experience working directly with diverse populations, particularly underserved communities
  • Commitment to person-centric approaches that honor each individual's unique path

What we offer

  • Direct involvement in youths' personal growth and career journeys with the rewarding experience of witnessing their development
  • Early career opportunity with significant program ownership and responsibility
  • Mentorship from Director of Programs and professional development support
