IT Roving Engineer- , 6 to 12 months Contract - SYN

A. Incident Response and Troubleshooting

Respond to service requests, incidents, and technical issues related to end-user devices, servers, networking equipment, and associated infrastructure.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware and software issues.

Perform root cause analysis and recommend preventive measures.

B. Hardware and Software Repair

Replace or repair defective components including hard drives, motherboards, RAM, power supplies, cables, and peripherals.

Reimage or reinstall operating systems and applications where necessary.

Coordinate warranty repairs and escalate issues to vendors when applicable.

C. Preventive Maintenance

Perform routine health checks and minor updates during scheduled site visits.

Ensure systems are operational after any fix.

D. Documentation and Reporting

Record all incidents, actions taken, and outcomes in the ticketing system.

Provide post-resolution reports as needed.

Maintain inventory of parts and tools used in repairs.

E. Communication and Coordination

Coordinate with client IT teams and/or third-party vendors as required.

Communicate effectively with end-users, providing status updates and instructions.

Job Requirements:

• Min 4 to 6 years of experience in IT infrastructure support;
• Previous experience in system integration / solutions provider environment required;
• Strong expertise in managing Windows Server environments (e.g., Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP);
• Intermediate knowledge of networking concepts and devices (e.g., TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, switches, firewalls);
• Proficiency in monitoring and troubleshooting server and network performance.

Preferred Certifications

• Familiarity with ITIL framework and BAU support processes;
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or Cisco CCNA would be a plus.
