We're looking for a dedicated individual with a can-do attitude and a passion for cooking to join our vibrant team as a Chef de Partie (CDP).
Key Responsibilities – Chef de Partie
As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen and ensuring the preparation of high-quality food. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :
Section Management
- Take ownership of a specific kitchen section, ensuring the preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes meet premium quality standards.
- Maintain consistency in flavour, texture, and presentation in every dish served.
Team Leadership & Development
- Guide, mentor, and support junior team members, including Commis and Demi Chefs.
- Provide hands-on training and share best practices to elevate kitchen performance and food safety.
Quality Assurance
- Conduct final checks on all dishes leaving your section to ensure they meet taste, presentation, and portioning standards.
- Uphold the kitchen’s commitment to excellence in every dish served.
Food Preparation & Culinary Execution
- Prepare and cook dishes to perfection, following set recipes while upholding creativity and efficiency.
- Ensure all ingredients are accurately portioned and stored according to food hygiene standards.
Kitchen & Hygiene Maintenance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized workstation in line with food safety regulations.
- Use kitchen equipment responsibly and report any maintenance needs promptly.
Inventory & Stock Control
- Monitor stock levels in your section and communicate shortages or needs to the Sous or Head Chef.
- Ensure freshness and minimise waste through effective inventory rotation and portion control.
Menu Innovation & Development
- Collaborate with senior chefs to develop and test new menu items.
- Contribute creative ideas for seasonal offerings and improvements to existing dishes.
Team Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the entire kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure smooth service.
- Participate in daily briefings and contribute to a supportive, high-performance kitchen environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role in a professional kitchen.
- Strong understanding of cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. Culinary certification or relevant training is a plus
Preferred Background:
