- Planning routes and travel schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods and cargo.
- Conducting vehicle maintenance checks to ensure that trucks are in good operating condition.
- Loading and unloading freight using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Following traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
- Communicating with dispatchers and other staff members to coordinate pick-up and delivery schedules.
- Keeping accurate records of trucking activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Interacting with clients, vendors, and other staff members professionally and courteously.
- Completing required paperwork and documentation, such as bills of lading and delivery receipts.
- Handling unexpected situations, such as traffic delays or mechanical problems, calmly and efficiently.
- Maintaining a clean and organised truck cab and cargo area.
