Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining underwriting standards and credit policies for all lending products including consumer cards, SME cash advance and unsecured and secured lines of credit
  • Define and maintain a credit approval process to ensure acceptable lending authorities
  • Oversees portfolio management to recommend and implement changes to credit policies
  • Works closely with compliance to ensure all aspects of lending are compliant with regulations, and Company Policies.
  • Works collaboratively across the Company, specifically with leaders, to support the Company's vision, credit goals and a team environment.
  • Manages a team of delegated approvers, credit analysts and portfolio managers to implement the credit management process
  • Reviews and approves large and complex loans prior to submission to loan committee
  • Identifies potential problem credits, coupled with appropriate intervention, to minimize losses.
  • Manages the budget for areas of responsibility and works to identify and solve potential challenges and opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in banking/financial institutions, with several years in credit risk related roles; ideally in a Head of Credit capacity
  • Strong knowledge of lending markets and products, especially in SME lending and credit card business.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to establish rapport with senior executives, team members, internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent oral and written communication skill
