  • Recruitment and Onboarding: This includes posting job openings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, managing the hiring process, and ensuring new hires have a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Employee Relations: HR manages communication with employees, addresses concerns, resolves conflicts, and fosters a positive work environment.
  • Training and Development: HR is responsible for identifying training needs, developing training programs, and ensuring employees have the skills and knowledge they need.
  • Policy Management: HR develops, implements, and updates company policies related to employment, performance, and other relevant areas.
  • Performance Management: HR supports the performance review process, providing guidance and support to managers and employees.
  • Compensation and Benefits: HR manages payroll, benefits administration, and ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintaining Employee Records: This includes keeping accurate records of employee information, attendance, performance, and other relevant data.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Office Management: This includes managing office supplies, equipment, and facilities, as well as coordinating travel arrangements and expense reports.
  • Record Keeping: Admin staff is responsible for maintaining both physical and digital records of employee information, contracts, and other important documents.
  • Payroll Processing: Admin staff often assists with payroll by gathering and verifying data, ensuring accurate and timely salary disbursement.
  • Benefits Administration: This involves managing employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
  • Communication: Admin staff handles communication with employees, vendors, and other stakeholders, often through phone, email, and other channels.
  • Event Planning: Admin staff may be involved in planning and coordinating company events, such as team-building activities, holiday parties, and other special events.
  • Legal Compliance: Admin staff ensures that the company adheres to all relevant laws and regulations related to employment, labor, and other areas.

Overlapping Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining HRIS: Both HR and admin staff may be involved in maintaining and updating the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Answering Employee Queries: Both HR and admin staff may be the first point of contact for employee queries, though HR often handles more complex or sensitive issues.
  • Reporting: Both HR and admin staff may be involved in generating reports on HR metrics, such as headcount, turnover, and performance.
