Software Engineer

About the Role

At SignalPlus, our core platform powers everything we build—high-speed, scalable services that drive real-time fintech innovations. As a Backend Engineer on our team, you’ll own key features from design through deployment, collaborating closely with architects and product owners to turn bold ideas into rock-solid code.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the design and development of high-performance, scalable service components for our core platform.
• Translate real-world business needs into technical solutions: select the right tools, write clean code, and author unit tests.
• Continuously tune and optimize system performance, hunting down bottlenecks before they become issues.
• Work hand-in-glove with architecture and product teams to ensure your designs land smoothly in production.
• Stay on the cutting edge—evaluate new frameworks and best practices, and share your learnings in code reviews and team sessions.
• Integrate and extend key infrastructure tools and middleware to support emerging use cases.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related field, plus ~5 years of backend development experience and rock-solid engineering habits.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin; bonus points if you’ve dabbled in Rust, Go, or another modern backend language.
• Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and the fundamentals of operating systems, networking, and threading models.
• Hands-on with JVM-ecosystem tools and frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Ktor) and comfortable tuning garbage collection and other runtime parameters.
• Practical experience with microservices: service discovery, rate limiting, circuit breaking, configuration management, etc.
• Well-versed in core infrastructure: message queues (Kafka), caches (Redis), and relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Nice to have: experience with data platforms or real-time processing frameworks such as Flink or Spark, or building large-scale distributed systems.
