WHAT TO EXPECT

We are looking for a passionate and driven Software Engineer Intern to join our in-house Finance team in Singapore. You will work on building full-stack internal applications that support our life insurance business operations, without relying on cloud platforms. You’ll gain hands-on experience in developing production-ready software and experimenting with emerging technologies such as AI and prompt engineering.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of internal software tools using Python, SQL, and JavaScript.
• Build scalable full-stack web applications from scratch using local infrastructure (non-cloud).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analytics, compliance, and operations, to define requirements and deliver new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Debug and resolve software issues as they arise.
• Stay up-to-date with software engineering trends and AI developments.

WHO YOU ARE

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, JavaScript; familiarity with TypeScript is a plus.
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, flat team structure.
• Curious and capable of learning new tools or frameworks quickly.
• Interest or intermediate familiarity with prompt engineering, AI tool integration, or OpenAI APIs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience or coursework in web development frameworks such as React, Node.js, or Angular.
• Previous internship, school project, or freelance experience in full-stack or backend development.
