Position Summary
We are looking for a dynamic Account Manager – SMART GRID Solution, to drive business growth across Singapore, reporting directing to Business Director. In this role, you will engage Switchboard Manufacturer, Contractor, Consultant, OEMs, EPCs, and end-users, promoting Power Technologies’s industry-leading SMART GRIDs monitoring systems & Transfer Switch Equipment. You will manage the full sales cycle—from lead generation to post-sales coordination—while collaborating with internal teams and local partners. Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Account Development
- Establish and grow strong relationships with Switchboard (OEMs), EPCs, consultants, and end-users across utility and industrial segments.
- Promote Power Technologies’s comprehensive portfolio, including Automatic Transfer Switch, Temperature Sensors, Partial Discharge Solutions, and advanced monitoring systems, tailored to project specifications.
- Respond to and manage customer enquiries related to after-sales services, including site surveys, maintenance, upgrades, replacements, spare parts, and training.
Channel Partner Engagement
- Work closely with authorized local partners and representatives to drive sales growth, expand market coverage, and support joint customer engagements.
- Leverage the relationships and networks of local partners with contractor, switchboard OEMs, EPCs, consultants, and end-users to establish credibility and build trusted advisor status quickly.
- Utilize channel partners to manage day-to-day (BAU) sales activities and support after-sales enquiries, ensuring responsive and localized customer service.
Cross-Border Collaboration
- Collaborate with Power Technologies regional offices to support multi-country project pursuits.
- Influence key stakeholders within the customer’s broader ecosystem—including contractor, switchboard OEMs, EPCs, and consultants—to address objections, align interests, and create a favorable path to project wins.
Value-Based Selling & Differentiation
- Clearly articulate Power Technologies’s unique value proposition, emphasizing product reliability, technical performance, lifecycle cost benefits, and service capabilities.
- Leverage consultative, value-based selling approaches to differentiate Power Technologies’s solutions and strengthen competitive positioning in the transformer components market.
Sales Process Ownership
- Drive the entire sales cycle from opportunity identification to post-sale engagement:
o Lead qualification: Identify high-potential prospects and accounts.
o Specification fulfilment: Ensure Power Technologies’s solutions match OEM requirements.
o Proposal development: Collaborate with the Offering Manager to deliver accurate, competitive, and compelling offers.
o Technical Clarifications: Coordinate with Offering Manager and engineering team to address and close all technical queries and ensure alignment.
o Commercial negotiation: Lead discussions on pricing, delivery, warranty, standard terms, and payment conditions.
o RFQ Management: Monitor opportunity status and maintain pipeline accuracy; update active/inactive RFQs accordingly.
o Post-sale engagement: Handle enquiries related to after-sales services and coordinate relevant actions internally.
- Understand the buying behavior of OEMs and end-user, and engage key decision- makers and influencers at multiple organizational levels.
Proposal Development & Support
- Support the Offering Manager in the creation of well-structured, technically sound proposals that align with customer expectations.
- Ensure proposals reflect Power Technologies’s technical expertise, product strengths, and service differentiation.
Sales Reporting & Strategic Planning
- Prepare and submit monthly sales reports, pipeline reviews, and performance metrics.
- Analyze customer data and market trends to guide territory planning, account prioritization, and focused commercial activities.
Customer Education & Technical Engagement
- Lead Lunch & Learn sessions and collaborate with Power Technologies’s Technical Trainer to deliver technical workshops and product training initiatives for customers.
- Facilitate customer engagement through pre-sales discussions, technical clarifications, and post-sale support awareness.
Marketing & Industry Events
- Represent Power Technologies in industry exhibitions, technical seminars, and marketing campaigns.
- Contribute to the development of brochures, whitepapers, success stories and case studies that demonstrate Power Technologies’s innovation and success in transformer solutions.
Internal Collaboration
- Coordinate closely with engineering, production, and support teams to ensure accurate proposal delivery and solution alignment.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication to address customer needs and ensure continuous improvement in customer experience.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related technical discipline.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales or account management in the switchgear, transformer, or power equipment industry.
- Demonstrate success in selling transformer accessories, monitoring systems, and managing after-sales support coordination.
- Exposure to multiple industry segments—such as Power & Utilities, Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas, Heavy Industries, Manufacturing & Process Industries, Rail & Transit, Data Centers, and Commercial or Urban Infrastructure—is highly advantageous.
Technical Knowledge:
- Solid understanding of transformer systems, SMART GRID applications, and high-voltage transmission and distribution networks.
- Ability to interpret and translate technical specifications into effective, customer- centric proposals.
Sales & Strategic Acumen:
- Demonstrated success in value-based, consultative selling.
- Experience working with complex sales cycles, involving multiple stakeholders and technical influencers.
Sales Process Expertise:
- End-to-end understanding of:
o Lead generation and qualification
o Temperature & Partial Discharge specification alignment
o Proposal development and collaboration
o Technical clarification and collaboration
o Pricing, warranty, and commercial negotiation
o RFQ pipeline tracking and status updates
o Post-sale follow-up and service-related coordination Tools & Software Proficiency:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook for reporting, proposal preparation, and communications.
