Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Operations, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in management consulting, or an operations-related function; or 2 years of experience with an advanced degree in business, accounting, finance or operations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in project management, with the ability to lead and handle multiple time-sensitive projects.
  • Experience with payroll taxation requirements for any one of the APAC countries.
  • Familiarity with SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
  • Familiarity with gross to net payroll processing.
  • Ability to work effectively with vendors and international teams.

About the job

As a Payroll Operations Manager, you will oversee all aspects of payroll and an extended workforce payroll processing team to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery for thousands of Googlers every month. You will also be responsible for adherence to all local payroll regulations, and providing excellent support to Googlers on payroll matters. You will work well under pressure, with exceptional prioritization skills. You will use your strong problem solving skills with a keen eye for detail. You are comfortable making risk based decisions, performing troubleshooting and partnering with cross-functional teams on strategic projects.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee extended workforce payroll operations team to deliver accurate and timely payroll including monthly and annual cycle planning and operational execution.
  • Design and maintain detailed operational processes and procedures for end-to-end payroll processing. Critically assess and promptly resolve operational escalations, investigate root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Provide final sign off on key aspects of the payroll cycle, including final payroll amounts, payments, compliance filings, exceptional payroll processing scenarios, UAT for system changes, project go-lives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including HR Operations (GXO), Corp Eng, Market HR, Employment Tax, Legal, Controllership on day-to-day operations as well as to implement compliance, regulatory, tax and other changes.
  • Drive the continuous optimization of your country by critically assessing payroll processes, identify gaps and partner with key stakeholders to resolve.
