Start your career as a Manager SHE at Vopak and be overall accountable for all Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) aspects of the terminal by developing, managing, driving, implementing and coordinating SHE programs to prevent injuries and/or health, environmental issues. This role is also accountable for providing a secure environment for the terminal’s operations.

What will you do as a Manager SHE?

As a Manager SHE, you will lead the SHE departments in the terminals in steering the terminals towards a proactive safety culture by planning the organization’s SHE strategy and to ensure terminals’ compliance to all statutory safety, health, environment, security regulations and requirements, as well as Vopak’s SHE standards. Additionally, you will drive the terminals’ initiatives to deliver improvements in safety and operational performance and lead incident investigations as well as the development and assessment of corrective and preventative actions.

What do we expect from you as a Manager SHE?

  • At least 15 years of safety, health and environmental management experience with at least 5 years in a management position

  • Degree or the equivalent certification in Engineering or Safety, Health and Environment

  • Preferably with WSH Level C or above certification

  • Have thorough understanding of Singapore safety regulations including WSH Acts, Regulations and Standards and regulatory process; the ability to research, analyze, interpret and implement HSE regulations, standards, and best practices

  • Strong data analysis acumen and ability to transform findings into opportunities for improvement

  • Good knowledge of maintenance, operations, safety and product knowledge

  • Knowledge of safety, health and environment practices

  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills

  • Positive stakeholder management capabilities with strong communications skills

Your core responsibilities are:

  • Act as the Leader on all SHE aspects in VTS; provide SHE leadership and direction to the VTS SHE departments and terminals

  • Collaborate with VTS Management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and sets the overall SHE strategy

  • Drive the implementation of the strategy

  • Set the VTS Annual SHE targets, plans and Must-Win-Battles (MWBs) with clear expectations and responsibilities for each terminal SHE department.

  • Conduct periodic reviews to ensure that SHE plans, with the Terminal SHE leads, remain relevant and on target

  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures, to the VTS Management

  • Support corporate SHE directions and initiatives

  • Continually fosters a positive & proactive safety culture in VTS

  • Advise VTS Management during crisis or emergency response including improving & maintaining all aspects of Crisis & Emergency Response Plans and response

  • Ensure compliance to all statutory safety, health, environment and security requirements through updates, reviews and audits

  • Take action to improve regulatory SHE performance and resolve non-compliances

  • Drive safety case implementation & ensures successful renewal

  • Oversee and manage the VTS SHE risk management process through conducting risk assessments and reviews

  • Ensure that all actions identified through these assessments and reviews are duly closed

  • Ensure that the incident management & investigation process is implemented

  • Manage the planned SHE audits and reviews

  • Ensure that all improvements identified from incidents, workplace inspections, near-misses and audits are duly completed

  • Drive other SHE Improvement initiatives for continual improvements in safety and operational performance

  • Act as the sole point of contact with SHE-related government agencies and mutual aid companies for VTS

  • Drive internal stakeholders alignment before engaging external parties on strategic matters

  • Build stakeholder relationships both internally and externally

  • Manage, motivate and develop the terminals’ staff and contractors in all SHE aspects

  • Lead the terminals’ SHE departments to ensure a high level of performance through mentoring and coaching
