Resident Engineer

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE RESIDENT ENGINEER

Your key duties shall include but not limited to : -

(REPORTING TO THE ARCHITECT)

1. The scope of work (supervision and inspection) shall also include Architectural works

a) Supervise/Monitor the contractors’ works to ensure that the work is carried out in compliance with the design intent, specification and quality of works required under the terms of the contract.

b) Maintain a Site Diary of events and daily surveillance

c) Ensure timely submission of shop drawings, technical submittals, samples, etc. by the sub-contractors

d) Seek clarifications from the Architect on any apparent discrepancies between site and contract drawings, specification requirement, shop drawing, etc before giving any directions to the contractor.

e) Record all such verbal clarifications with the Architects and/or contractor in the Site Diary/Record of telephone conversations and follow-up with appropriate Site Memo if no prompt action by the relevant parties become evident.

(REPORTING TO THE ENGINEERS)

1 The scope of work to be carried out shall be the full-time supervision as required under the Building Control Act.

2 Such supervision and inspection shall include:

a) All the structural elements and critical activities under Building Control Act
b) Demolition and ERSS including monitoring.
c) Curtain wall, full height window, trellis and façade installation works
d) All barriers/railings work.

e) Any other PE submissions.
