Objective of the Position:
Manage Month end, Quarter end and Year-end Closing & Reporting
Responsible for general accounting transactions performed and support the hub to close the books and report according to pre-determined schedule. Ensure that financial impact and reporting requirements of key business activities are being evaluated as period closing requirements and informed to the hub for processing. Responsible for timely, complete and accurate submission of company reporting package and local statutory reports.
Corporate Tax
Manage tax compliance matters including proper and timely submission of applicable tax returns, country-by-country reporting and transfer pricing documentation. Provide input from tax perspective on transactions, business model and contracts.
Manage end-to-end processes
Support end-to-end request/transaction process together with local stakeholders and the hub. Provide insight to resolve operational problems, issues and queries. Initiate optimization and ensure effectiveness and efficiency of end-to-end processes with cross-functional teams while maintaining adequate internal controls.
Compliance with country regulations and corporate requirements
Liaise and work closely with internal and external auditors, relevant BASF personnel, tax advisors and relevant local authorities to understand and ensure the company’s finance policies/procedures/practices fully meet the relevant requirements.
Business Partnering
Undertake analyses on financial and operational data to provide insights and recommendation to supervisor or stakeholders according to the defined scope and approaches. Actively seek to understand existing and new business model/requirement, issues and challenges and derive finance solutions to support the business needs.
Internal and External Audits
Liaise with internal and external auditors and ensure that scope of audit, approach and work plan are effectively prepared to meet the audit objectives. Coordinate and facilitate audit activities, ensure that requirements of the auditors are met in the most effective manner by various stakeholders in BASF – no duplication of task, minimized interruption of business and operations.
Projects
Participate or drive to achieve project deliverables, including communicating to all stakeholders and developing relationship with regional teams and stakeholders to ensure that project rollouts will be adopted/implemented and maintained appropriately.
Requirements:
- Oversee Finance function to deliver appropriate service level to stakeholders.
- Implement finance policies, procedures and practices in an efficient manner while ensuring compliance with country regulations and corporate requirements.

Requirements:
- Bachelor of Accountancy or equivalent professional qualification recognized by the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in MNC with manufacturing operations, preferably with finance supported by shared service centre. Big 4 audit experience will be advantageous
- Proficient in accounting principles and practices, Singapore/International Financial Reporting Standards, working knowledge of Singapore tax regulations and Companies’ Act requirements.
- Proficient application of internal controls framework on systems/processes.
- Hands-on knowledge of SAP FI COPA modules and Microsoft applications (Excel and PowerPoint).
