The Role
We are hiring an Assistant Safety Manager for a major infrastructure project in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction safety, particularly in tunneling and deep excavation works, and will be responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant work environment across all phases of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and enforcement of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and procedures on site.
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to ensure compliance with statutory and project safety requirements.
- Monitor high-risk activities, particularly tunneling and deep excavation works , and ensure necessary control measures are in place.
- Support the development and review of Risk Management Implementation Plans in accordance with bizSAFE Level 2 or equivalent.
- Participate in incident investigations , root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
- Promote a strong safety culture by conducting safety training, toolbox meetings, and safety briefings .
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to address safety concerns and ensure the timely resolution of issues.
- Must be willing to work shifts to support project needs.
Ideal Profile
- You have at least 5 years of relevant safety experience in the construction industry, with at least 3 years in a developer or main contractor setting .
- You have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in tunneling and/or deep excavation works .
- You are a Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Singapore.
- You possess a valid certificate in Risk Management Implementation Plan (bizSAFE Level 2) or equivalent.
- Certification in Design for Safety (DfS) appreciation course would be preferred.
- You have strong knowledge of local WSH regulations and practices , with proven ability to manage site safety proactively.
- You possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- You are willing to work shifts as per the project's needs.
