CIVIL ENGINEERING MANAGER

Job Description & Requirements

A civil engineering manager oversees the technical and design aspects of civil engineering projects, such as buildings and infrastructure . They are responsible for managing a team of engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

• Develop and design best project approach, elements and details.
• Operational delivery of segmented projects for clients, including sub-consultant teams.
• Ongoing project construction administration.
• Maintain/Develop client relationships.
• Supervise: Oversee team members and personnel, including consultants and contractors
• Coordinate: Manage communication and coordination among different types of engineers working on a project
• Plan: Coordinate budgets and schedules, and ensure project delivery is on-time and within budget
• Monitor: Monitor performance and update project schedules and monthly report
• Project Management, 23% Project management, contract administration, design, marketing and construction management, supervision of engineers, technicians, and project managers
• Business Development, 11% Prepared financial and technical documentation for GreenVolts business development, vendor identification and making sales presentations to prospective Clients and Organizations.
• Civil 3D, 10% Water main alignment design in Civil 3D Sidewalk improvement/prioritization study Exhibit preparation and concept cost estimates in Civil 3D.
• Geotechnical, 6% Perform geotechnical instrumentation monitoring and data collection
• CAD, 5% Directed/Supervised engineering department consisting of project/design engineers (mechanical and electrical), CAD operators, and other support staff.
• Stormwater, 5% Prepare annual operating and capital budgets for citywide stormwater services * Write financial and technical reports and make presentations to management.
