Design Engineer

Job Description

• Develop piping layout designs based on project/tender requirements and engineering standards.
• Generate and convert engineering drawings from 3D models.
• Prepare and compile drawings for authority/client submission.
• Perform material take-off (MTO) for piping systems, including valves, fittings, and associated metal works.
• Liaise with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotations and conduct technical evaluations to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for piping and valve works in support of tender submissions.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in piping design, drawing preparation, and tender estimation.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel; strong computer literacy is essential.
• Able to manage tight schedules and deliver quality work under time constraints.
• Experience in water/wastewater treatment plants or other industrial/process plant projects and familiar with PUB specification is highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with Bentley software (e.g., OpenPlant Modeler, OpenBuildings Designer) is a strong plus.
