Job Description

Ley Choon Group of Companies is a leading integrated service provider in Singapore, specializing in Underground Utilities Infrastructure Construction, Road & Airfield Pavement Works, and Construction Materials Supply. As we continue to expand our operations across multiple large-scale infrastructure projects, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our team and contribute to the effective planning and execution of our civil engineering works.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Manager / Deputy Director in the overall planning, coordination, and execution of multiple infrastructure or utility projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Monitor daily project operations to ensure work progress is in accordance with approved plans, schedules, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely execution and resolution of site-related issues.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and meetings to track construction progress, enforce safety protocols, and maintain quality control.
  • Liaise with government agencies and statutory boards (e.g., LTA, PUB, SP Group) to secure necessary approvals, permits, and utility clearances.
  • Assist in preparing project timelines, work schedules, budgets, and manpower plans, and monitor progress against key milestones.
  • Track and manage project risks, variations, technical queries (TQs), and change requests, providing timely updates to senior leadership.
  • Support procurement efforts by coordinating material and equipment requisitions, ensuring timely delivery to site.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including project reports, drawings, progress photos, minutes of meetings, and compliance records.
  • Assist in the evaluation of subcontractor performance and manage site workforce productivity and discipline.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, keeping all parties informed of project status, potential issues, and mitigation plans.
  • Take initiative in resolving site issues, proposing solutions, and escalating critical concerns when necessary.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by the Project Manager or Head of Department to support project execution and team performance.

Qualifications

  • A recognized Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an institution accredited by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB), Singapore.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in civil engineering or construction project management.
  • Hands-on experience in underground utility works involving cable, water, or gas pipelines is highly advantageous.
  • Strong project coordination, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly self-motivated, independent, and capable of working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Passionate about delivering results with a keen eye for detail and quality.
  • Possession of a valid Class 2 or 3 driving license is an advantage (to support site mobility).
