Lead Automation Engineer

Skills Required

• Must possess atleast 8+ years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance and Test Automation, with a significant focus on web application testing
• Must possess expertise and leadership in designing, building, and scaling test automation frameworks using Cypress.io and TypeScript
• Deep understanding of test automation architecture patterns, design principles, and performance optimization for test suites
• Extensive experience with API testing strategies and tools
• Must possess profound knowledge of software testing methodologies, quality assurance processes, and the full SDLC in agile environments
• Ability to integrate automation into complex CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization of test suites
• Good to have Familiarity with other test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Selenium) or programming languages (e.g., Python, Java)
• Experience with cloud-native testing strategies and platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Must possess problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills, with an ability to anticipate and mitigate quality risks
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

Responsibilities

• Define and implement comprehensive automation strategies for complex web applications and integrated systems, encompassing end-to-end, API, and potentially performance and security testing
• Architect and drive the evolution of our enterprise-level test automation frameworks and infrastructure, primarily using Cypress and TypeScript
• Lead, mentor and technically guide a team of automation engineers
• Oversee the integration of advanced automated tests into our CI/CD pipelines, optimise for rapid feedback and continuous deployment.
• Drive the adoption of automation best practices, coding standards, proactively identify and champion new tools, technologies and methodologies
• Lead efforts in defect analysis, root cause identification, and collaborate on preventative measures with development teams
