DESIGNATION : Associate (Programme), Active Ageing Centres

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Associate (Programme) is an integral member of the Active Ageing Centre (AAC) team, contributing to the effective delivery of programmes and daily operations with greater autonomy and initiative. This role involves actively engaging seniors, fostering community partnerships, and supporting the centre's growth and development. Reporting to the Centre Supervisor, the Associate (Programme) helps cultivate a dynamic and inclusive environment that promotes active ageing and meaningful community connections.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Coordination and Delivery:

  • Take ownership in the planning, facilitation and evaluation of programmes and activities across the 5 domains of Active Ageing Programme (AAP): Physical, Cognitive, Social, Learning and Volunteerism
  • Lead daily sessions and facilitate group activities to promote senior engagement and learning
  • Gather feedback from seniors on programme participation and suggest improvement.

Community Outreach and Engagement:

  • Proactively conduct outreach (e.g. door-knocking and phone calls) to identify and connect with seniors, especially those who are isolated or vulnerable
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with seniors, understanding their needs and encouraging participation
  • Support community development efforts and contribute to initiatives that strengthen neighbourhood ties.

Volunteer and Partner Engagement:

  • Coordinate with volunteers, proving guidance and support for their roles in in activities and programmes
  • Liaise with community partners and agencies to co-create and implement meaningful collaborative programmes.

Administrative Support:

  • Maintain accurate and timely programme documentation, including attendance records, programme schedules, and activity reports.
  • Assist in with procurement, logistics, and resource preparation for programmes and events
  • Support Centre Supervisor in ensuring operational readiness and service quality.

Team and Centre Support:

  • Contribute to a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained centre environment
  • Assist in onboarding or mentoring new Associates or volunteers where applicable
  • Actively participate in team meetings and planning sessions to support centre-level objectives.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum GCE 'A' Levels or Diploma in a relevant discipline (e.g., Social Work, Community Development, Psychology, or Gerontology).
  • Preferably with at least 1-2 years of relevant experience in community work, eldercare, or programme facilitation.

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication and facilitation skills
  • Enthusiastic, empathetic, and patient in interacting with diverse seniors
  • Good organisational and time management skills. Attention to details
  • Initiative, contribute ideas for continuous improvement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and openness to learn digital tools
  • Team player with a collaborative spirit
  • Ability to communicate in English and at least one local language/dialect to interact effectively with seniors.
  • Willingness to work on-site at the AAC and conduct outreach in the community.
