About the role

We’re looking for a warm, enthusiastic Mandarin Teacher who is passionate about language learning in the early years and who understands that language is more than vocabulary - it’s identity, culture, and belonging. You will be a key member of our team, working alongside other educators to co-design meaningful, child-led experiences.

This isn’t a rote memorisation role - it’s about immersing children in through stories, songs, play, and connection.

Responsibilities :

  • Plan and deliver engaging mandarin lessons for children aged 12 months to 6 years, aligned with the Agora curriculum.
  • Work closely with English-speaking co-teachers to deliver a cohesive experience for all
  • Use songs, stories, puppetry, dramatic play, and thematic provocations to bring the language to life.
  • Participate in planning meetings, reflective conversations, and documentation of children’s learning.
  • Support language acquisition through everyday routines (e.g., transitions, mealtimes) in a developmentally appropriate way.
  • Build warm relationships with families and share regular updates on their child’s language journey.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-centred culture where your input is valued and your voice is heard.

Requirements

  • You are fluent in Mandarin and passionate about early childhood education, as you will be supporting language development and delivering Mandarin-language lessons.
  • Relevant Early Childhood or Education based qualification
  • Experience teaching in a bilingual or inquiry-based setting preferred
  • A creative and confident communicator
  • A genuine love for working with young children and a deep respect for their individuality
  • Heavy duty resilience and commitment to the team
  • Someone who understands the importance of consistency for young children and takes a responsible, professional approach to attendance and managing sick leave.
