Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the engineering output aligns with technical specifications, budget, and project timelines.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers, and supervise subcontractors.
  • Report directly to the Engineering Manager on project progress, potential issues, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate and communicate with various engineering disciplines and departments, including procurement, logistics, construction, and commissioning.
  • Maintain client relationships, obtain necessary approvals, and liaise with regulatory and third-party verification bodies.
  • Review and validate project documentation (drawings, datasheets), and incorporate content into RFQ documentation.
  • Participate in vendor selection and evaluation processes through Technical Clarification Requests (TCR) and Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in marine systems engineering, preferably in Pre-FEED, FEED, and detailed design phases.
  • Solid technical knowledge and hands-on experience in conceptual and detailed design of marine and production systems on floating and production units in the oil and gas sector (FPSOs, FPUs, drilling units).
  • Experience working with shipyards, marine operations, equipment vendors, and manufacturers.
  • In-depth understanding of international regulations and standards (ABS, DNV GL, BV, Lloyd’s, IMO, SOLAS) and implementation of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) policies.
  • Mandatory experience with equipment subject to EU Directives (PED, MED, ATEX) and review techniques (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA).
  • Good interface knowledge with related disciplines, such as Naval Architecture, Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I), Piping, HVAC, Process Engineering, Technical Safety, and Regulatory Compliance.
  • Familiarity with the latest marine systems and equipment technology, with the ability to specify and assess the suitability of equipment while maintaining a balance between technological advancement and commercial awareness.
  • Willingness to work in international teams and, if needed, relocate to other project offices or shipyards.
