Job's mission
As a Commodity Manager in ASM's global sourcing team, you'll drive the development of robust gas delivery supplier networks that power our industry-leading semiconductor solutions. This role is central to achieving our business-critical goals — from innovation speed and cost efficiency to supplier performance and continuity. You'll work at the intersection of supply chain, engineering, and business units, influencing global sourcing outcomes and long-term supplier partnerships.
What you will be working on
- Lead the development and implementation of global sourcing strategies and global supplier network capabilities for the commodity of gas delivery (gas panel, gas weldment, OEM components) to achieve key business goals: Time to Market, Cost of Goods Reduction, Lead Time Reduction and Supplier Business Continuity in ramp-up and ramp-down situations.
- Communicates commodity strategies across the organization, the Business Units and NPI Operations to ensure sourcing decisions and product development aligns with strategic supplier selections.
- Formulate negotiation strategy to proactively drive cost reduction with suppliers in a complex, high mix/low volume environment to meet strategic, operational and financial performance targets.
- Total commodity ownership, including supplier relationship management in alignment with needs of the business, the global supply strategy and specific commodity strategies. Inclusive of actively approaching the supplier market by means of investigating, screening, pre-selection of and negotiation with new or alternative suppliers for a product group/line of business.
- Responsible for negotiations of complex agreements with suppliers encompassing key program specifications, BU NPI product requirements and functional objectives.
- Responsible for total supplier performance: measure and manage vs. key targets, compliance to agreements and implementing improvement roadmaps to address gaps. Drive supplier performance improvements in on-time delivery, quality and commitments to ESG.
- Work effectively with internal stakeholders cross-functionally and cross-regionally, as well as those of external partnerships who are critical to meeting key objectives
- Maintain and provide current understanding on industry and technology trends for the assigned categories. Schedule and host TRM w/Business Units.
- Routinely reviews supply risk assessments, and drives mitigation plans accordingly, including setting up and working out of secondary and/or alternative supplier routes regarding the purchasing of strategically important and critical products/goods
What we are looking for
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of work-related experience in Procurement or Commodity management, with increasing responsibility
- Minimum 5 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or similar high technology manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to interpret technical blueprints
- Experience with gas delivery systems and gas OEM components
- Familiarity with build-to-print manufacturing models
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English
