Position Overview

The Assistant Vice President (AVP), GTOS – Application Infrastructure is a leadership role within the GTOS Infrastructure team, responsible for overseeing the infrastructure that supports business applications. This includes managing teams, ensuring application availability and performance, and collaborating with various stakeholders to align infrastructure with business needs. He/She will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies, policies, and procedures to maintain a stable and efficient environment for application delivery.

This position requires strong leadership capabilities, in-depth technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams within PSA and with external vendors. The AVP will drive infrastructure strategy, lead high-performing teams, and foster a culture of operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the strategic roadmap for application infrastructure in alignment with enterprise business objectives and IT architecture principles.
  • Oversee the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of infrastructure components, including servers, storage, networks, middleware, and databases, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
  • Lead the implementation and enforcement of infrastructure security policies, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the technical liaison between infrastructure, application development, and project delivery teams to ensure seamless service integration and support for application rollouts.
  • Identify and drive initiatives to improve infrastructure performance, reliability, and efficiency through automation, modernization, and process optimization.
  • Own the planning, provisioning, and management of development and testing environments.
  • Champion documentation standards to ensure infrastructure designs, configurations, and operational procedures are well maintained.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex infrastructure issues affecting application services.
  • Cultivate a strong service-oriented culture and ensure 24/7 infrastructure support readiness.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of proven hands-on experience in managing enterprise infrastructure for business-critical applications
  • At least 8 years in a leadership role, with a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing engineering teams. Provenability to lead and motivate teams, manage performance, and foster a positive work environment


Technical Competencies

Deep hands-on technical expertise in at least 3 of the below infrastructure technologies:

o Operating Systems: RHEL Linux and automation with Ansible

o Databases: IBM DB2

o Middleware: IBM WebSphere, Apache HTTP Server, WS02

o Messaging/Streaming: Kafka, Zookeeper, Redis

o Virtualization and Hosting: VMware

o Networking: Enterprise-level networking technologies


  • Strong understanding of system architecture and its impact on application performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to infrastructure architecture and design decisions.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting complex infrastructure and integration issues.
  • Working knowledge of security standards, compliance, and best practices
