OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR
BAOHUA SHIPPING PTE. LIMITED

Key Responsibilities:
1. Settlement Volume Management (Iron Ore Transactions)
Track and reconcile contracted vs. actual delivered iron ore volumes.
Ensure timely and accurate settlement with suppliers, customers, and ports.
Liaise with shipping & operations teams to verify shipping and discharge data.
2. Swap Operations (Cargo or Port Swap)
Execute iron ore cargo swaps or port swaps to optimize logistics and trading strategies.
Maintain swap documentation and confirmations with counterparties.
Coordinate with port agents and shipping teams to manage physical swap execution.
Monitor market conditions to assess swap feasibility and risk exposure.
3. Resource Management (Port & Logistics Resources)
Plan and allocate port slots, storage space, and transportation capacity for iron ore cargoes.
Coordinate berth scheduling and unloading priorities with port operations.
Optimize vessel turnaround times and minimize demurrage costs.
Monitor inventory levels at bonded warehouses and stockyards.
4. Data Collection & Analysis
Collect data on shipments, port operations and trade performance.
Cross-check data accuracy with port reports, vessel logs, and internal ERP systems.
Analyze trends in throughput, logistics efficiency, and trade performance.
Support management and trading desks with ad hoc data requests.
5. Monthly & Annual Reporting
Prepare monthly and yearly reports on trade volumes, operational KPIs, and swap activities.
Highlight inventory level changes, port utilization, and vessel turnaround metrics.
Provide insights on cost trends (freight, demurrage, handling fees).
Ensure compliance with audit and corporate reporting standards.
6. Account Reconciliation (Volumetric & Financial)
Reconcile quantity records between contracts, port data, and financial invoices.
Collaborate with finance to verify settlement values and pricing adjustments.
Investigate variances in cargo weights, moisture content adjustments, and quality-based pricing.
Maintain audit-ready records for compliance and dispute resolution.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in international trading,shipping,logistics,operations or related field.
Experience: 6+ years in trade operations, preferably in commodities trading (iron ore preferred).
Familiarity with trade documents (BLs, L/Cs), Incoterms, and risk management.
Technical Skills:
Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle).
Data visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau) a plus.
Soft Skills:
Strong cross-functional collaboration (commercial, finance, logistics).
Detail-oriented with problem-solving agility.
Communication:
Excellent communication skills.
