- Supervise and coordinate the work of insulation crews during installation, maintenance, and repair of thermal insulation on steel structures.
- Assign daily tasks to insulators and helpers based on project schedules and priorities.
- Monitor workforce productivity, safety practices, and quality standards.
- Review insulation drawings, material specifications, and project requirements.
- Plan manpower, tools, and material requirements to meet project deadlines.
- Coordinate with other trades (scaffolding, welding, painting, QA/QC) to ensure smooth execution.
- Ensure all insulation work complies with project specs, industry codes, and thermal performance standards.
- Conduct routine inspections to verify proper installation, material use, and protective jacketing.
- Report non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Enforce site safety procedures and conduct daily toolbox talks and Job Safety Analyses (JSA).
- Ensure all team members use correct PPE and follow work permit systems (e.g., hot work, confined space).
- Report incidents and near-misses and participate in root cause analysis when required.
- Oversee receipt, storage, and issue of insulation materials and tools.
- Monitor material usage to prevent waste and manage inventory for ongoing work.
- Maintain daily progress reports, labour logs, and material usage sheets.
- Update project management on work status, delays, or issues.
- Prepare quality documentation for inspections and client handovers.
- Train and mentor junior insulators and helpers.
- Promote skill development and enforce high workmanship standards.
- Attend site meetings with clients, consultants, and general contractors.
- Address technical queries (TQ) and coordinate work fronts.
