Job Description


Core Responsibilities

CATEGORY MANAGEMENT



  • This role will cover the broader portfolio of batteries
  • Bring Procurement Category Management into your Strategic Sourcing Team (SST)
  • Apply segmentation tools over the supply base and define negotiation strategies documented and maintained in your negotiation handbook hereby using objective market indices.
  • Develop and apply “should costing” methodologies via the above handbook
  • Drive the Purchasing Pricing Variance and Partner for Productivity monthly reporting for your key component clusters (including budgeting)
  • Bring the Sustainability Ambition into the key component sourcing domain hereby driving the Live Cycle Assessment concepts contributing to our target realization.
  • Own and manage resilience streams hereby managing the dependency of the overall the LEGO Group revenue from the key component suppliers by deep insight of the critical supplier nodes upstream in its value chain
  • Apply the relevant digital tools in the above e.g. Coupa application as procurement tool etc.



STRATEGIC SOURCING TEAM (SST)



  • Lead together with Development colleagues the Strategic Sourcing Team (tandem procurement – technology staff) for identified category package of key components.
  • Define and own the supplier selection strategy, the related key component supplier technology roadmap for your defined Category of key components and get final validation from the LEGO Group SST SteerCo team. Secure access to the supplier technology roadmaps and steer influence in these roadmaps hereby securing our technical interests.
  • Secure access to the full eco system of the key component suppliers to have the design-in activity becoming a success.
  • Lead global contract negotiation covering all aspects (technical design, capacity, commercial, legal, IP, quality, supply, compliance, sustainability) with the selected suppliers and own the contract update status.
  • Offer the contracts for deployments (and use) in the novelty projects to the project procurement leaders and assist them to initiate the project specific Statement of Works (SoW) into the above contract. Be responsible to maintain the integrity of the contract when SoW s are introduced. Provide the Component NRE and CAPEX/OPEX for novelty projects to the Project Procurement Leader for him/her to complete this SoW
  • Understand the complications of IP ownership and contracting, T&C s in these contracts
  • Represent procurement in multi functional meetings with the key component suppliers.



RELATIONSHIP/ STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT



  • Drive stakeholder management which is, due to its criticality in the LEGO Group Digital System Play, on high level with supplier management
  • Ensure strong collaboration with the innovation teams and product technology teams which are globally dispersed
  • Own the Supplier Relationship Management by driving for your category the regular performance business review meetings and the annual Top Management Meeting (C level)



Parts External Manufacturing’s (P&EM) mission is to design/engineer, source, plan and deliver new parts to the LEGO Group in expected quality through global 3rd party design & manufacturing network partners.
