Mechanic (5.5 days / Tuas)

Job Scope:

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery, forklifts, and tools to ensure operational efficiency and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults and execute timely repairs to restore equipment functionality.
• Ensure all machinery and vehicles operate in compliance with safety regulations and performance standards.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues and identify root causes to implement effective solutions.
• Replace or repair faulty components, including belts, motors, gears, hoses, and other mechanical parts.
• Collaborate closely with production staff to understand recurring issues and recommend long-term solutions.
• Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment service history.
• Immediately report major breakdowns, equipment failures, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Ensure proper care, usage, and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
• Monitor spare parts inventory levels and assist in timely procurement and stock replenishment.
• Adhere strictly to company safety protocols and consistently use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ensure all maintenance tasks comply with statutory requirements and internal safety standards.
• Provide support during the installation and setup of new machinery or equipment.
• Assist in supervising and guiding mechanic helpers, including task delegation and on-the-job training.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar maintenance/technical role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, maintenance best practices, and repair techniques.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of industrial machinery and equipment.
• Practical experience in the installation, upgrading, and servicing of mechanical systems.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail, with a proactive approach to maintenance and repair work
