What a HP Spark Management Associate - NPI Process Engineer does at HP:
- Support proto build plan in your assigned area to fulfill TIJ proto pen assembly requirement per planned schedule.
- Develop and solve process/tooling/software related problems, create choice points, recommend proposal and identify trade-offs based on program priorities, build time, material availability and associated design constraints.
- Maintain the Manufacturing Technical Scenario
- Maintain the default sheet and Bill Of Material for all pen SKUs
- Responsible for maintaining and driving the tooling and manufacturing issues list through HP PDP framework (Product Development Process)
- Develop and maintain proto related expense per affordable budget
- Assess and drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) with IPH Process/Product team, System and Tooling team
- Collaborate with partners to develop qualification strategy for new processes or tools, set this standard with manufacturing partners
- Support cross site cross organization NPI knowledge transfer
- Support manufacturing strategy for NPI through proto and into high volume launch
- Drive the direct launch of NPI programs partnering with R&D, NPI and Manufacturing across different geography. Review previous direct launch projects for best practices and gap analysis.
- Drive WW pen assembly zone meeting with partners to NPI projects, manage escalations, innovate process and equipment tooling solutions, convergence and address critical issues to resolution.
Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
- Thorough understanding of materials and processing for Inkjet pen assembly, including costs, vendors.
- Solid understanding of the reliability issues related to materials and processing.
- Solid use of CAD tools. Working knowledge on schedule, budget, yield, forecasts preferable.
- Leadership skills with proof points on ability to recommend well substantiated proposal and communicate them clearly and effectively.
- Good organizational skills.
