What a College Intern - Smart Control Tower System Engineer does at HP:
  • Develop a Smart Singapore Control Tower System for Remote Malaysia OEM Manufacturing KPI Improvement.
Phase 1 - Show : Real time online display of production factory/line KPI performance, anytime, anywhere
  • Production Line Overall Equipment Effectiveness(OEE)
  • Representation of Equipment performance overview.
  • Manufacturing database query, cleansing, processing and pushing for effective
  • Trending of Productivity, Yield and Quality.
  • Convert numerics into graphical display of the above KPI in Power-BI Apps
Phase 2 - Sense : Health Alert System for Equipment, material and critical process
  • Equipment vitals monitoring for anticipated component failure repair/replacement
  • Raw Material Alert System for quality deviation detection and improvement
  • Real time Critical Process deviation Alarm for pre-disaster Engineering intervention.
Phase 3 - Suggest : Deploy AI/Analytics to identify opportunity for operational improvement
  • Manufacturing material scrap monitoring

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

  • Demonstrate analytical and problem solving capability throughout university course work.
  • SQL data extraction from redshift database.
  • Python programming for data cleaning, processing and analytics.
  • Knowledge of automating data feed and display real time on interactive Power- BI UI.
  • Sound Manufacturing assembly process, mechatronics/IOT application and Value Stream mapping knowledge.
  • Develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills to approach challenges systematically and creatively.
  • Improve your ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work well in a team environment and contribute to collaborative projects.
  • Pay meticulous attention to code quality, documentation, and error handling.
  • Develop hands-on knowledge from design to mechanical system testing and commissioning process steps. include definition of spec and acceptance criteria.
  • Learn project management principles and tools to efficiently manage and track your project progress.
  • Able to commit for a 5-6 months full-time internship.
