System Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, maintain, and support Windows and Linux server infrastructure (physical and virtual)
• Manage and monitor virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Implement and maintain enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and authentication services
• Patch management, OS upgrades, and regular system audits
• Monitor system health and performance using tools like Nagios, SolarWinds, or similar
• Handle incidents, service requests, and root cause analysis for infrastructure-related issues
• Automate routine tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
• Work closely with network, security, and application teams to support business operations
• Prepare technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and change records
• Participate in infrastructure design, upgrade planning, and capacity management

Optional / Good to Have:

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible)
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Exposure to Microsoft 365, Exchange, and hybrid environments
• ITSM tools like ServiceNow or Remedy

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in system administration or engineering roles
• Deep expertise in Windows Server, VMware/Hyper-V, and enterprise IT operations
• Hands-on experience with storage (SAN/NAS), backups, and monitoring tools
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
• Familiar with ITIL processes and change management
• Ability to lead infrastructure projects and work independently
• Willing to work in 24x7 on-call rotation , if needed

Preferred Certifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or Azure Administrator Associate
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Linux+
• ITIL Foundation Certification
