Systems Engineer

This is an non-end user facing role. Responsible for patching of Windows/Wintel and Linux servers, ensuring timely deployment, compliance reporting, and issue remediation. Maintains patching tools, coordinates schedules, and supports security and audit requirements in alignment with IT policies and operational uptime.

• Manage end-to-end patching processes for Windows/Wintel servers, ensuring timely deployment of system and security updates.
• Perform hands-on patch installation, verification, and troubleshooting using tools like WSUS, SCCM, or other patch management platforms.
• Monitor patch compliance levels, generate reports, and take corrective actions for failed or missing patches.
• Coordinate patching schedules with application owners to minimize impact on business operations.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of patching procedures, schedules, system baselines, and change logs.
• Ensure all patching activities adhere to organizational security policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities identified through scans or advisories.
• Conduct pre-patching system checks and post-patching validation to ensure system integrity and availability.
• Maintain basic proficiency in Linux systems to support patching and compliance in a mixed-OS environment.
• Participate in audits and support incident response related to unpatched vulnerabilities or failed updates.
• Continuously review and improve patch management processes and automation workflows.
