Functional & Domain ExpertiseBusiness Acumen: Understanding business models, KPIs, and strategy is more crucial than deep coding skills.Industry Knowledge: Domain-specific knowledge (e.g., healthcare, retail, finance) helps in interpreting data contextually.Performance Metrics: Ability to identify and track relevant, actionable metrics rather than just "vanity" data.

2. Data Analysis & Visualization Proficiency (Tools)While non-IT, they must be "power users" of data tools:Data Visualization: Advanced proficiency in tools like Tableau or Power BI is non-negotiable.Data Manipulation: Strong skills in Excel for cleaning, querying, and preparing data.Intermediate SQL: Familiarity with SQL for data querying is often required to be self-sufficient, even without IT support.ETL Familiarity: Understanding how to Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) data from diverse sources.

Analytical & Strategic Mindset"Numbers Brain": A natural aptitude for interpreting patterns, trends, and anomalies in data.Problem-Solving: Ability to take a vague business query ("why are sales down?") and translate it into a data-driven investigation.Critical Thinking: Proactively identifying opportunities for improvement rather than just reporting what happened.
