Job Overview

The Accounts Assistant is responsible for supporting the accounting team with daily financial operations. This role ensures accurate record-keeping, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with financial procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process invoices, payments, and expense claims
  • Maintain and update financial records and ledgers
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Handle petty cash and monitor expenses
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and statements
  • Communicate with suppliers, clients, and internal departments
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education & Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role (preferred but not always required)

  • Office-based or hybrid work setting
  • Standard working hours, with occasional extra time during financial closing periods
