The Personnel should holistically support identified Sec 1 - 4 students who have additional needs and with high touch points through casework with the school’s Case Management Team.
Intervention plan aims to:
- strengthen protective factors of students
- enhance students’ connectivity to school
- improve social emotional competencies
The scope of services required are set out as follows:
- Strengthen the after-school support and engagement for a group of identified high needs students. (Academic Support and Interest Based programmes)
- Build their mental and emotional resilience through targeted mentoring and teaching of social-emotional competencies and life skills by personnel experienced in working with these high-needs children
- Create a psychological safe environment and introducing positive adult role-models outside their family environment to reinforce sound morals and values and acceptable social behaviours
- School collaboration – To provide relevant feedback and progress of students to school personnel, and provide support and consultation to school teachers on students’ needs and challenges
The Personnel shall minimally possess the following:
- Must be registered with MOE;
- Have at least 3 years of social / youth work experiences with students in MOE schools (preferably secondary schools)
a) Qualifications
The Personnel should preferably possess the following qualifications:
- Education qualifications in counselling / psychology / social work / social sciences, or equivalent qualifications in social / youth work;
- Track records of personnel supplied must show work experiences with students in MOE schools, preferably secondary schools.
b) Skills
Personnel should demonstrate the following:
- Passion and disposition for working with students-at-risk and their families, and a positive belief in their potential.
- Cultural sensitivity, collaborative and an openness to diverse views.
- Emotional stability, resourcefulness and resilience.
- Ability to manage complex cases and provide relevant advice to school personnel on such cases.
Contract Period: 5 months (29 June to 23 Oct)
Working Arrangement: Follow Proposed Deployment Schedule (TBC - total 448 hours)
