Endoscopy Technician

Responsibilities

Conduct daily cleaning of worktables, scope reprocessing machines (AER), flushing pumps, and leak testers.

Prepare scopes for procedure rooms by checking listings and ensuring readiness.

Inspect and perform leak testing and manual cleaning on dirty scopes before reprocessing.

Load scopes into the AER and initiate the reprocessing cycle.

Perform evaluations using AER test indicators and ensure proper drying and storage of scopes.

Manage inventory of high-level disinfectants and endoscopes, including tracking micro surveillance scopes.

Report any faulty scopes or machines to the nurse in charge.

Carry out weekly cleaning of the sterile storage area and scope cabinets.

Conduct simple maintenance of AER machines and prepare procedure rooms for endoscopy procedures.

Assist Registered Nurses in monitoring patients pre and post endoscopy and with simple diagnostic endoscopy procedures.

Participate in clinical and service quality activities as required and complete any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Relevant certificates in healthcare support are an advantage.

Basic computer skills are preferred.

Self-motivated and responsible with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

Proactive attitude and capacity to work effectively within a team.
