- Maintain a basic understanding of the Grain Traders menu and ingredients.
- Ensure customer areas and restaurant premises are kept clean and in good condition at all times.
- Complete instructions assigned by supervisors and communicate promptly if tasks cannot be completed.
Beverage Lead
The Beverage Lead is the operational anchor of our beverage station ecosystem. This is a cross-functional, hospitality-first role that goes beyond coffee to deliver a full beverage experience across coffee, matcha, smoothies, cold brew, and functional drinks.
The Beverage Lead is calm under pressure, proactive in approach, and capable of operating independently while actively supporting the wider team.
1. Operational Responsibilities
- Oversee daily beverage station operations, ensuring readiness and consistency from opening to closing.
- Prepare and execute beverages across the full menu, including coffee, matcha, smoothies, cold brew, and functional drinks/shots, to the highest standard and with consistency.
- Maintain preparation par levels for all beverage items and support the development and execution of grab-and-go products such as overnight oats, chia cups, bottled beverages, and functional snacks.
- Ensure the beverage area and equipment are maintained in a clean and operational condition at all times and promptly alert management when repairs or maintenance are required.
- Support food preparation as needed, including cutting, prepping, and packaging.
- Assist on the service line when operationally required or during peak periods.
2. Service & Guest Experience
- As a key point of contact for guests, maintain the highest standards of appearance, attitude, and role execution at all times.
- Maintain awareness of the dining room and outdoor seating areas, proactively clearing trays, cups, and guest waste where necessary.
- Ensure the beverage station and surrounding guest areas remain clean and presentable throughout service.
- Engage guests positively and professionally, embodying Grain Traders' culture of Feeding People Right & Treating People Right.
- Support overall restaurant operations beyond the beverage counter, acting as a visible and reliable team member during service.
3. Administrative & Inventory Responsibilities
- Conduct regular stock checks and monitor inventory levels across beverage ingredients and related items.
- Communicate ordering requirements to management in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply.
- Support the Restaurant Manager in driving revenue and ensuring cost-related targets are achieved.
- Minimise wastage and consistently monitor product quality.
- Support inventory organisation and storage standards while following SOPs and operational systems as directed by the Operations Manager /Restaurant Manager.
The Beverage Lead is someone many of our guests interact with. As such, it is essential that this individual carries themselves with professionalism, warmth, and composure in all situations. This role demands quick decision-making, a proactive mindset, and the ability to multitask, including operating independently as part of the rotation.
